Speaker: Anne Fawcett
Animal welfare and ethics teachers from 8 veterinary schools across Australia and New Zealand collaborated to develop an online One Welfare teaching portal. This innovative tool is designed to develop knowledge of animal welfare science, proficiency in critical thinking and ethical reasoning, and competency in communication around animal welfare and ethics.
The One Welfare portal provides a range of resources including scenarios, reflective tools, a bank of peer-reviewed multiple choice questions, a quality of life assessment tool and “Chatterbox” – a novel conversation tool to encourage students to develop and justify their views. I will discuss the unique development process and the applications of the portal.
